Elder Fischer's Letter to the Young Men

Dear Young Men,
I wish you could feel the spirit and learn the things that I have learned in just the first week of my mission. This truly is Gods work and I promise you that their is no greater joy than helping bring to pass the salvation of man. As a missionary we work side by side with the Lord. My friends, it I can share with you one thing in this letter let it be this. We cannot afford to fall asleep at the spiritual wheel. For if we do we will deviate from the course we are on and may miss an opportunity to help someone. Another secret of missionary work that I have learned thus far is how important and effective it is to go above and beyond the call of duty. Go out of your way, everyday, to help someone that is above and beyond what you are asked to do. If we do this the Lord will open doors we cannot even imagine. I'm not saying do something huge. Just asking that if you see some trash on the ground you pick it up. Someone will notice and it will appeal to the Christ in them. Everyone has a Christ in them and when we appeal to that Christ in them, they will want to know more and we can teach them the gospel! Brothers, study Preach My Gospel. It is your guide. Not just for sharing the gospel but for growing spiritually and becoming more Christlike. I love you all! Elder Fischer

2nd Week Email

Hey to all! These first two weeks here at the MTC have been awesome! We have already learned to pray testify and teach part of the first lesson in spanish! One of my favorite things about the MTC is when we all come together for Tuesday evening devotionals and sing. It is just so amazing to see all of the Lords full time servants gathered together to sing praises to His name. Also i have a challenge to all of you, well really it is a challenge from our district. We are having a contest to see who's friends and family love them most and we are judging that by how many care packages we receive so please help me and Elder Gates! lol But on a more serious note i do have a challenge for you all. The book of Mormon is the Keystone of our religion and combined with the spirit, it is the MOST powerful conversion tool that we have. If we can get others to read and pray and believe in the Book of Mormon then they will also have to believe in Jesus Christ, Joseph Smith was a true prophet, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints is true, and that it is being led today by a latter day prophet who receives inspiration from the Lord. If we can do this than we can achieve our purpose which is to invite others to come unto Christ. I promise that if you can do this you will find no greater joy on this earth. Have fun and remember who you are and what you stand for!

Family, thanks so much for the letters through dearelder throughout the week. Even though I can't write back to you until Wednesdays i still love hearing from you throughout the week. also if you guys want to you can take over my facebook just make sure that everyone knows it is you not me on there. I Love you guys so much and you should be receiving one letter around tomorrow and I am sending another one today.

Love, Elder Fischer

Weston's New Email Address

ElderWFischer@myldsmail.net

Weston can receive emails but he is only allowed to send emails to his family. He will be able to check his emails on Wednesday during his P-day. I am sure any communication is appreciated. As we figure this process out we will find ways to forward info on to all those who have emailed him. Any of you with more experience are welcome to share some insight.

Westons 1st week in the MTC

Ok - so here is Elder Fischer's first email to us - not too much info but sounds like he is doing great and thriving in the MTC just like his Dad said he would.

Weston's First day in the MTC

We received a letter from Weston after his first day in the MTC - he is already loving the work and feeling an outpouring of the spirit. His companions name is Elder Gates and he is from Utah. His tentative departure date is September 14th. He will be traveling with 16 other missionaries to Chile and 8 will be continuing on with him to the Santiago North Mission. He will be setting up a new email for all those who are interested. I will post it once we have the final address. His P-day is Wednesday.
